Otis Blackwell never met the man who spun gold with the titles he borrowed. Otis Blackwell began writing songs when he was about 15 and by age 17 had signed with JD records in New York Otis Blackwell wrote Fever was a hit in 1956 for Little Willie John , Peggy Lee and Ray Peterson. All sold over a million copies each of release Handy Man went to top 10 for 20 weeks in 1977 as recorded by James Taylor.
